Recipe of the Week

HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE

6-8 large apples ( i enjoy granny smith apples)
8 QT pot
1-2 inches of water on bottom of pot
cinnamon to taste
1/4-1/2 C sugar
potato masher

Peel and dice the apples into small chunks. place apples into pot. Make sure the water is on the bottom. Place pot over med heat. You want to let the apples simmer slightly do not boil. Add sugar and cinnamon as the apples begin to soften. As the apples cook and soften you can start to smash them with the potato masher. I like my applesauce a little more chunky so i do not smash too much. Depending on how many apples you use it can take between 30-60 minutes. You will know when it's done but how soft the apples get. Let the applesauce cool and enjoy!
This recipe tastes great without sugar or cinnamon too!
